인터넷주소자원에 관한 법률 제2조(정의)
Internet Address Resources Act, Article 2 (Definitions)
이 법에서 사용하는 용어의 뜻은 다음과 같다.
The terms used in this Act have the following meanings:
1. "인터넷주소"란 인터넷에서 국제표준방식 또는 국가표준방식에 의하여 일정한 통신규약에 따라 특정 정보시스템을 식별하여 접근할 수 있도록 하는 숫자ㆍ문자ㆍ부호 또는 이들의 조합으로 구성되는 정보체계로서 다음 각 목의 어느 하나에 해당하는 것을 말한다.
1. "Internet address" means an information system consisting of numbers, characters, symbols, or combinations thereof that enables identification of and access to a specific information system on the Internet according to a certain communications protocol under international standards or national standards, and falls under any of the following items:
가. 인터넷 프로토콜(protocol) 주소: 인터넷에서 컴퓨터 및 정보통신설비가 인식하도록 만들어진 것
(a) Internet protocol address: An address made to be recognized by computers and information and communications facilities on the Internet;
나. 도메인(domain)이름: 인터넷에서 인터넷 프로토콜 주소를 사람이 기억하기 쉽도록 하기 위하여 만들어진 것
(b) Domain name: A name made to make Internet protocol addresses easy for people to remember on the Internet; and
다. 그 밖에 대통령령으로 정하는 것
(c) Others prescribed by Presidential Decree.
2. "인터넷주소자원"이란 인터넷주소 및 인터넷주소의 사용에 필요한 정보ㆍ설비ㆍ기술 등의 자원을 말한다.
2. "Internet address resources" means resources such as Internet addresses and the information, facilities, and technology necessary for using Internet addresses.
3. "인터넷주소관리기관"이란 인터넷주소의 할당ㆍ등록 등과 관련된 업무를 수행하는 「정보통신망 이용촉진 및 정보보호 등에 관한 법률」 제52조에 따른 한국인터넷진흥원(이하 "인터넷진흥원"이라 한다)과 인터넷진흥원으로부터 인터넷주소 관리업무를 위탁받은 법인 및 단체를 말한다.
3. "Internet address management agency" means the Korea Internet & Security Agency under Article 52 of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (hereinafter referred to as the "KISA"), which performs duties related to allocation, registration, etc. of Internet addresses, and corporations and organizations entrusted with Internet address management duties by the KISA.
4. "인터넷주소의 사용자"란 인터넷에서 컴퓨터 등 정보시스템을 식별하기 위하여 인터넷주소관리기관으로부터 인터넷 프로토콜 주소를 할당받거나 인터넷주소관리기관ㆍ인터넷주소관리대행자 또는 최상위도메인등록업체(이하 "인터넷주소관리기관등"이라 한다)에 도메인이름 또는 제1호다목의 인터넷주소(이하 "도메인이름등"이라 한다)를 등록한 자를 말한다.
4. "User of an Internet address" means a person who has been allocated an Internet protocol address by an Internet address management agency in order to identify an information system such as a computer on the Internet, or who has registered a domain name or an Internet address under subparagraph 1 (c) (hereinafter referred to as a "domain name, etc.") with an Internet address management agency, an Internet address management agent, or a top-level domain registrar (hereinafter referred to as an "Internet address management agency, etc.").
5. "개인정보"란 「정보통신망 이용촉진 및 정보보호 등에 관한 법률」 제2조제1항제6호에 따른 개인정보를 말한다.
5. "Personal information" means personal information under Article 2 (1) 6 of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection.
6. "인터넷주소관리대행자"란 인터넷주소의 할당 또는 등록에 관한 업무의 일부를 대행하기 위하여 제14조제1항에 따라 인터넷주소관리기관이 선정한 자를 말한다.
6. "Internet address management agent" means a person selected by an Internet address management agency under Article 14 (1) to act on its behalf in part of the duties of allocating or registering Internet addresses.
7. "최상위도메인등록업체"란 일반최상위도메인 또는 국가코드최상위도메인(대한민국 국가코드 최상위도메인은 제외한다)의 등록업무를 대행하는 업체를 말한다.
7. "Top-level domain registrar" means a business that acts as agent in the registration of generic top-level domains or country code top-level domains (excluding the country code top-level domain of the Republic of Korea).
