해양환경관리법 제55조(협약검사증서의 교부 등)

①해양수산부장관은 정기검사ㆍ중간검사ㆍ임시검사ㆍ임시항해검사 및 방오시스템검사(이하 "해양오염방지선박검사"라 한다)에 합격한 선박의 소유자 또는 선장으로부터 그 선박을 국제항해에 사용하기 위하여 해양오염방지에 관한 국제협약에 따른 검사증서(이하 "협약검사증서"라 한다)의 교부신청이 있는 때에는 해양수산부령이 정하는 바에 따라 협약검사증서를 교부하여야 한다. <개정 2008.2.29, 2013.3.23>

②선박의 소유자 또는 선장이 국제협약의 당사국인 외국(이하 "협약당사국"이라 한다)의 정부로부터 직접 협약검사증서를 교부받고자 하는 경우에는 해당 국가에 주재하는 우리나라의 영사를 통하여 신청하여야 한다.

(2) Where웨어 the^ð디 owner오우너 or오 master매스터 of어^v브 a어 vessel^v베슬 intends인텐즈 to투 be비 issued이슈드 a어 convention컨^v벤션 inspection인스펙션 certificate서티^f피컷 directly더^r렉틀리 by바이 the^ð더 government거^v버먼트 of어^v브 a어 foreign^f포^r런 country컨트^r리 that^ð댓 is이즈 a어 party파티 to투 the^ð디 international인터내셔늘 convention컨^v벤션 (hereinafter히^r리내^f프터 referred^r러^f퍼드 to투 as애즈 "convention컨^v벤션 state스테잇 party"),파티 the^ð디 owner오우너 or오 master매스터 shall섈 apply어플라이 through^θ쓰^r루 a어 consul칸슬 of어^v브 the^ð더 Republic^r리퍼블릭 of어^v브 Korea코^r리아 stationed스테이션드 in인 that^ð댓 country.컨트^r리

③해양수산부장관은 협약당사국의 정부로부터 그 국가의 선박에 대하여 협약검사증서의 교부신청이 있는 경우에는 해당 선박에 대하여 해양오염방지선박검사를 행하고, 해당 선박의 소유자 또는 선장에게 협약검사증서를 교부할 수 있다. <개정 2008.2.29, 2013.3.23>

④제1항 내지 제3항의 규정에 따라 교부받은 협약검사증서는 해양오염방지검사증서 및 방오시스템검사증서와 같은 효력이 있는 것으로 본다.
