①정부는 주요 인적자원개발정책을 조정하고 인적자원개발과 관련된 예산의 효율적인 운용 등에 관한 사항을 심의하기 위하여 국가인적자원위원회(이하 "위원회"라 한다)를 둔다. <개정 2021.3.23>

②위원회는 다음 각 호의 사항을 심의한다. 다만, 과학기술분야 인적자원개발과 관련된 사항은 대통령령으로 정하는 바에 따라 「국가과학기술자문회의법」에 따른 국가과학기술자문회의와 협의하여 그 심의여부를 결정하여야 한다. <개정 2013.3.23, 2018.1.16, 2021.3.23>

⑧위원회의 사무를 지원하고 인적자원개발 사무를 담당하기 위하여 교육부에 인적자원개발정책 추진본부를 두며, 그 본부장이 위원회의 간사가 된다. 추진본부의 구성 및 운영에 관하여 필요한 사항은 대통령령으로 정한다. <개정 2008.2.29, 2013.3.23>
