소비자기본법 제17조(시험ㆍ검사시설의 설치 등)

①국가 및 지방자치단체는 물품등의 규격ㆍ품질 및 안전성 등에 관하여 시험ㆍ검사 또는 조사를 실시할 수 있는 기구와 시설을 갖추어야 한다.

②국가ㆍ지방자치단체 또는 소비자나 소비자단체는 필요하다고 인정되는 때 또는 소비자의 요청이 있는 때에는 제1항의 규정에 따라 설치된 시험ㆍ검사기관이나 제33조의 규정에 따른 한국소비자원(이하 "한국소비자원"이라 한다)에 시험ㆍ검사 또는 조사를 의뢰하여 시험 등을 실시할 수 있다.

③국가 및 지방자치단체는 제2항의 규정에 따라 시험 등을 실시한 경우에는 그 결과를 공표하고 소비자의 권익을 위하여 필요한 조치를 취하여야 한다.

④국가 및 지방자치단체는 소비자단체가 물품등의 규격ㆍ품질 또는 안전성 등에 관하여 시험ㆍ검사를 실시할 수 있는 시설을 갖출 수 있도록 지원할 수 있다.

(4) The^ð더 State스테잇 and앤드 local로우클 governments거^v버먼츠 may메이 support서포트 consumer컨수머 organizations오거너제이션즈 so소우 that^ð댓 they^ð데이 can캔 have해^v브 facilities^f퍼실러티즈 for^f포 testing테스팅 and앤드 inspecting인스펙팅 the^ð더 standards,스탠더즈 quality,콸러티 safety,세이^f프티 etc.엣세터^r러 of어^v브 goods,구즈 etc.엣세터^r러

⑤국가 및 지방자치단체는 제8조ㆍ제10조 내지 제13조 또는 제15조의 규정에 따라 기준을 정하거나 소비자의 권익과 관련된 시책을 수립하기 위하여 필요한 경우에는 한국소비자원, 국립 또는 공립의 시험ㆍ검사기관 등 대통령령이 정하는 기관에 조사ㆍ연구를 의뢰할 수 있다.
