보안관찰법 제20조(보호)

①검사 및 사법경찰관리는 피보안관찰자가 자조의 노력을 함에 있어, 그의 개선과 자위를 위하여 필요하다고 인정되는 적절한 보호를 할 수 있다.

②제1항의 보호의 방법은 다음과 같다.

③법무부장관은 보안관찰처분대상자 또는 피보안관찰자중 국내에 가족이 없거나 가족이 있어도 인수를 거절하는 자에 대하여는 대통령령이 정하는 바에 의하여 거소를 제공할 수 있다.

④사회복지사업법에 의한 사회복지시설로서 대통령령이 정하는 시설의 장은 법무부장관으로부터 보안관찰처분대상자 또는 피보안관찰자에 대한 거소제공의 요청을 받은 때에는 정당한 이유없이 이를 거부하여서는 아니된다.

⑤법무부장관은 제3항에 의하여 거소제공을 받은 자에게 국내에 인수를 희망하는 가족이 생기거나 기타 거소변경의 필요가 있는 때에는 본인의 신청 또는 검사의 청구에 의하여 이미 제공한 거소를 변경할 수 있다. 이 경우 법무부장관은 3월 이내에 거소의 변경여부를 결정하여야 한다.
