공직선거법 제26조(지방의회의원선거구의 획정)

①시ㆍ도의회의원지역선거구(이하 "시ㆍ도의원지역구"라 한다)는 인구ㆍ행정구역ㆍ지세ㆍ교통 그 밖의 조건을 고려하여 자치구ㆍ시ㆍ군(하나의 자치구ㆍ시ㆍ군이 2 이상의 국회의원지역구로 된 경우에는 국회의원지역구를 말하며, 행정구역의 변경으로 국회의원지역구와 행정구역이 합치되지 아니하게 된 때에는 행정구역을 말한다)을 구역으로 하거나 분할하여 이를 획정하되, 하나의 시ㆍ도의원지역구에서 선출할 지역구시ㆍ도의원정수는 1명으로 하며, 그 시ㆍ도의원지역구의 명칭과 관할구역은 별표 2와 같이 한다. <개정 1995.4.1, 2010.1.25>

②자치구ㆍ시ㆍ군의원지역구는 인구ㆍ행정구역ㆍ지세ㆍ교통 그 밖의 조건을 고려하여 획정하되, 하나의 자치구ㆍ시ㆍ군의원지역구에서 선출할 지역구자치구ㆍ시ㆍ군의원정수는 2인 이상 4인 이하로 하며, 그 자치구ㆍ시ㆍ군의원지역구의 명칭ㆍ구역 및 의원정수는 시ㆍ도조례로 정한다. <개정 2005.8.4>

③제1항 또는 제2항의 규정에 따라 시ㆍ도의원지역구 또는 자치구ㆍ시ㆍ군의원지역구를 획정하는 경우 하나의 읍ㆍ면(「지방자치법」 제7조제3항에 따라 행정면을 둔 경우에는 행정면을 말한다. 이하 같다)ㆍ동(「지방자치법」 제7조제4항에 따라 행정동을 둔 경우에는 행정동을 말한다. 이하 같다)의 일부를 분할하여 다른 시ㆍ도의원지역구 또는 자치구ㆍ시ㆍ군의원지역구에 속하게 하지 못한다. <개정 1995.4.1, 2005.8.4, 2010.1.25, 2021.1.12>
