5ㆍ18민주화운동 관련자 보상 등에 관한 법률 제4조(5ㆍ18민주화운동관련자보상심의위원회)

① 이 법에 따른 관련자와 그 유족에 대한 사실 심사와 그 밖의 보상 등의 심의ㆍ결정을 위하여 전남광주통합특별시에 5ㆍ18민주화운동관련자보상심의위원회(이하 "보상심의위원회"라 한다)를 둔다. <개정 2026.3.5>

② 보상심의위원회의 기능은 다음 각 호와 같다.

③ 보상심의위원회는 위원장 1명을 포함한 15명 이내의 위원으로 구성하며, 위원장은 전남광주통합특별시장이 되고 위원은 학식과 경험이 풍부한 사람과 관계 공무원 중에서 대통령령으로 정하는 바에 따라 국무총리가 임명하거나 위촉한다. <개정 2026.3.5>

④ 보상심의위원회는 제2항제1호의 심사와 같은 항 제2호의 판정을 위하여 각각 10명 이내의 위원으로 구성된 분과위원회를 둘 수 있다.

⑤ 보상심의위원회와 분과위원회의 조직 및 운영 등에 필요한 사항은 대통령령으로 정한다.
