4ㆍ16세월호참사 피해구제 및 지원 등을 위한 특별법 제7조(손실의 보상 등)

① 국가는 다음 각 호의 어느 하나에 해당하는 사람이 입은 손실을 보상하여야 한다. <개정 2018.3.13>

② 국가는 4ㆍ16세월호참사와 관련된 구조 및 수습활동으로 사망하거나 부상을 입은 잠수사(공무원은 제외한다)에 대하여 그 유족 또는 해당 부상자에게 보상금을 지급하여야 한다. 다만, 다른 법령에 따라 국가 또는 지방자치단체가 부담하는 같은 종류의 보상금을 지급받은 사람에 대하여는 그 보상금에 상당하는 금액은 지급하지 아니한다. <신설 2020.6.9>

③ 제1항 및 제2항의 보상금의 기준은 4ㆍ16세월호참사와 제1항 및 제2항의 피해 사이의 인과관계 및 그 피해의 정도 등을 고려하여 대통령령으로 정한다. <개정 2020.6.9>
