통합방위법 제11조(경계태세)

① 대통령령으로 정하는 군부대의 장 및 경찰관서의 장(이하 이 조에서 "발령권자"라 한다)은 적의 침투ㆍ도발이나 그 위협이 예상될 경우 통합방위작전을 준비하기 위하여 경계태세를 발령할 수 있다.

② 제1항에 따라 경계태세가 발령된 때에는 해당 지역의 국가방위요소는 적의 침투ㆍ도발이나 그 위협에 대응하기 위하여 필요한 지휘ㆍ협조체계를 구축하여야 한다.

③ 발령권자는 경계태세 상황이 종료되거나 상급 지휘관의 지시가 있는 경우 경계태세를 해제하여야 하고, 제12조에 따라 통합방위사태가 선포된 때에는 경계태세는 해제된 것으로 본다.

④ 경계태세의 종류, 발령ㆍ해제 절차 및 경계태세 발령 시 국가방위요소 간 지휘ㆍ협조체계 구축 등에 필요한 사항은 대통령령으로 정한다.
