주민등록법 제15조(주민등록과 가족관계등록과의 관련)

①등록기준지와 주민등록지가 다른 경우에 주민등록지의 시장ㆍ군수 또는 구청장이 「가족관계의 등록 등에 관한 법률」 제9조제2항에 따른 가족관계등록부의 기록사항과 같은 내용의 주민등록을 하였거나 등록사항을 정정 또는 말소하면 그 내용을 대통령령으로 정하는 바에 따라 등록기준지(제14조제3항에 따른 경우에는 가족관계등록 신고지를 말한다)의 시장ㆍ구청장 또는 읍ㆍ면장에게 알려야 한다. <개정 2007.5.17, 2009.4.1>

②제1항에 따른 통보를 받은 시장ㆍ구청장 또는 읍ㆍ면장은 통보받은 사항 중 가족관계등록부의 기록사항과 다른 사항에 대하여는 지체 없이 그 내용을 주민등록지의 시장ㆍ군수 또는 구청장에게 알려야 한다. <개정 2007.5.17, 2009.4.1>
