Act on Support for Discharged Military Personnel, Article 2 (Definitions)

① 이 법에서 사용하는 용어의 뜻은 다음과 같다. <개정 2023.7.11>

1. "제대군인"이란 「병역법」, 「군인사법」 또는 「대체역의 편입 및 복무 등에 관한 법률」에 따라 군 또는 공익 분야에서의 복무를 마치고 전역[퇴역ㆍ면역(免役) 또는 소집해제를 포함한다. 이하 같다]한 사람을 말한다.

2. "장기복무 제대군인"이란 10년 이상 현역으로 복무하고, 장교ㆍ준사관 또는 부사관으로 전역한 사람을 말한다.

3. "중기복무 제대군인"이란 5년 이상 10년 미만 현역으로 복무하고, 장교ㆍ준사관 또는 부사관으로 전역한 사람을 말한다.

4. "의무복무 제대군인"이란 「병역법」, 「군인사법」 또는 「대체역의 편입 및 복무 등에 관한 법률」에 따라 5년 미만의 기간을 현역, 보충역 또는 대체역으로 복무하고 전역한 사람을 말한다.

② 제1항에 따른 군 또는 공익 분야에서의 복무기간은 임용되거나 입영한 날이 속하는 달부터 전역한 날이 속하는 달까지의 연월수(年月數)로 계산하되, 현역으로 입영하거나 임용된 경우의 군 복무기간을 계산할 때에는 장교ㆍ준사관ㆍ부사관 및 병(兵)의 복무기간을 모두 합산한다. <개정 2023.7.11>
