①산림청장은 법 제7조제1항에 따른 산림지속성지수를 개발함에 있어 산림경영의 여건과 「산림기본법」 제13조제1항 및 동법 시행령 제11조에 따른 기준 및 지표 등을 반영하여야 한다.

②산림청장은 산림지속성지수를 지속적으로 보완하고 널리 활용하기 위하여 연구개발ㆍ모니터링ㆍ평가ㆍ환류 등 일련의 과정을 유지ㆍ관리하여야 한다.
