도로교통법 제15조(전용차로의 설치)

① 시장등은 원활한 교통을 확보하기 위하여 특히 필요한 경우에는 시ㆍ도경찰청장이나 경찰서장과 협의하여 도로에 전용차로(차의 종류나 승차 인원에 따라 지정된 차만 통행할 수 있는 차로를 말한다. 이하 같다)를 설치할 수 있다. <개정 2020.12.22>

② 전용차로의 종류, 전용차로로 통행할 수 있는 차와 그 밖에 전용차로의 운영에 필요한 사항은 대통령령으로 정한다.

③ 제2항에 따라 전용차로로 통행할 수 있는 차가 아니면 전용차로로 통행하여서는 아니 된다. 다만, 긴급자동차가 그 본래의 긴급한 용도로 운행되고 있는 경우 등 대통령령으로 정하는 경우에는 그러하지 아니하다.
