Act on Review of Deaths in the Line of Duty Following the Abolition of the International Cooperation Personnel System, Article 3 (Standards for Recognition of Death in the Line of Duty)

① 국제협력요원이 직무수행 중 사망하거나 다음 각 호의 어느 하나에 해당하는 부상 또는 질병으로 사망한 경우에는 순직으로 본다.

② 국제협력요원의 자해행위가 원인이 되어 사망(부상ㆍ질병으로 사망한 경우를 포함한다)한 경우 순직으로 보지 아니한다. 다만, 그 자해행위가 직무와 관련한 사유로 정상적인 인식능력 등이 뚜렷하게 저하된 상태에서 한 행위로서 대통령령으로 정하는 사유가 있으면 순직으로 본다.
