과학기술기본법 제27조(국가과학기술표준분류체계의 확립)

① 과학기술정보통신부장관은 과학기술 관련 정보ㆍ인력ㆍ연구개발사업 등을 효율적으로 관리할 수 있도록 관계 중앙행정기관의 장과 협의하여 과학기술에 관한 국가표준분류체계를 세우고 국가과학기술표준분류표를 만들어 시행하여야 한다. <개정 2010.12.27, 2013.3.23, 2017.7.26>

② 정부는 제1항에 따른 국가과학기술표준분류표를 널리 활용하도록 노력하여야 한다.

③ 과학기술정보통신부장관은 전담기관을 지정하여 국가과학기술표준분류표를 지속적으로 보완하여 발전시키도록 하고, 그 운영에 필요한 경비를 지원할 수 있다. <개정 2010.12.27, 2013.3.23, 2017.7.26>

④ 제1항부터 제3항까지의 규정에 따른 국가과학기술표준분류표의 제정 절차 및 전담기관의 지정 등에 필요한 사항은 대통령령으로 정한다.
