① 다음 각 호의 어느 하나에 해당하는 사람은 경력경쟁채용등의 대상이 될 수 없다. <개정 2015.11.4, 2020.12.31>

1. 종전의 재직기관에서 감봉 이상의 징계처분을 받은 사람

2. 법 제30조제1항제2호에 따라 정년퇴직한 사람

② 임용권자 또는 임용제청권자는 법 제10조제3항 각 호 외의 부분 단서에 따라 같은 항 제1호, 제3호 및 제7호에 해당하는 경우 다수인을 대상으로 하지 아니한 시험으로 경찰공무원을 채용할 수 있다. <신설 2026.9.1>

④법 제10조제3항제3호에 따른 경력경쟁채용등의 대상은 국가기관ㆍ지방자치단체ㆍ공공기관, 그 밖에 이에 준하는 기관의 임용예정직에 관련성이 있는 직무분야에서 임용예정계급에 상응하는 근무경력 또는 연구경력이 3년(별표 1에 따른 특수기술부문에 근무할 사람을 임용하려는 경우에는 2년, 경찰공무원으로 근무한 경력인 경우에는 1년) 이상인 사람으로 한다. 다만, 의무경찰로 임용되어 정해진 복무를 마친 사람을 순경으로 경력경쟁채용등을 하는 경우를 제외하고는 종전 재직기관에서 퇴직한 날부터 다음 각 호에 해당하는 날까지의 기간이 3년을 넘는 사람을 경력경쟁채용등의 대상으로 할 수 없다. <개정 1993.8.23, 1998.12.31, 2015.11.4, 2015.11.20, 2016.12.30, 2020.12.31, 2026.9.1>
