Regulations on the Organization of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Its Affiliated Agencies, Article 9 (Office of Planning and Coordination)
① 기획조정실장 밑에 「행정기관의 조직과 정원에 관한 통칙」 제12조에 따른 보좌기관 중 실장ㆍ국장을 보좌하는 보좌기관(이하 "정책관등"이라 한다) 2명을 둔다.
(1) Under the Director General for Planning and Coordination, there shall be two assistant organs (hereinafter referred to as "Policy Officers, etc.") that assist the Director General of an Office or Bureau among the assistant organs under Article 12 of the Regulations on the Organization and Staffing of Administrative Agencies.
② 기획조정실장 및 정책관등 중 1명은 고위공무원단에 속하는 일반직공무원으로, 정책관등 중 1명은 고위공무원단에 속하는 임기제공무원으로 보한다.
(2) The Director General for Planning and Coordination and one of the Policy Officers, etc. shall be general service public officials belonging to the Senior Civil Service, and one of the Policy Officers, etc. shall be a fixed-term public official belonging to the Senior Civil Service.

(3) The Director General for Planning and Coordination shall assist the Vice Minister in the following matters:

1. Formulating, consolidating, and coordinating industry, trade, commerce, and resources policies and reviewing and analyzing results;

2. Overseeing the formulation of budgets and funds and coordinating and evaluating their execution;
3. 국회 등 외부기관과의 정책 협조
