북한인권법 제12조(재단 임원의 구성)

① 재단에는 이사장 1명을 포함한 12명 이내의 이사를 두며, 이사는 통일부장관이 추천한 인사 2명과 국회가 추천한 인사로 구성하되, 국회가 이사를 추천함에 있어서는 대통령이 소속되거나 소속되었던 정당의 교섭단체와 그 외 교섭단체가 2분의 1씩 동수로 추천하여 통일부장관이 임명한다.

② 이사장과 정관으로 정하는 상근이사를 제외한 임원은 비상근으로 한다.

③ 이사장은 이사 중에서 호선하고 이사장 및 이사의 임기는 3년으로 하되, 한 차례만 중임할 수 있다. 다만, 당연직 이사의 임기는 그 재임기간으로 한다.

④ 그 밖에 재단 임원의 구성 등에 필요한 사항은 대통령령으로 정한다.
