고등교육법 제59조의4(전담기관의 지정ㆍ설립 등)

① 시ㆍ도지사는 지역혁신대학지원위원회의 심의를 거쳐 제59조의2에 따른 지원 및 지역별 고등교육의 발전 등을 효과적으로 지원하기 위하여 지역별 지원기관(이하 "전담기관"이라 한다)을 지정하거나 법인을 설립할 수 있다. 이 경우 시ㆍ도지사는 전담기관의 지정일ㆍ설립일부터 30일 이내에 교육부장관에게 그 사실을 알려야 한다.

② 국가와 지방자치단체는 전담기관에 제59조의2에 따른 업무, 사업 및 지역 고등교육의 발전 등에 필요한 경비를 예산의 범위에서 보조 또는 출연할 수 있다.

③ 그 밖에 전담기관의 지정ㆍ설립, 전담기관의 장의 임면 등 전담기관의 운영에 필요한 사항은 대통령령으로 정하는 바에 따라 각 시ㆍ도의 행정적ㆍ재정적 여건 등을 고려하여 조례로 정한다.
