고등교육법 제35조(학위의 수여)

① 대학(산업대학ㆍ교육대학을 포함하며, 대학원대학은 제외한다)에서 학칙으로 정하는 과정을 마친 사람에게는 학사학위를 수여한다.

② 대학원에서 학칙으로 정하는 과정을 마친 사람에게는 해당 과정의 석사학위나 박사학위를 수여한다.

(2) A어 master's매스터즈 or오 doctoral닥터^r럴 degree디그^r리 for^f포 the^ð더 relevant^r렐러^v번트 program프^r로우그^r램 shall섈 be비 conferred컨^f퍼드 on안 a어 person퍼슨 who후 has해즈 completed컴플리티드 the^ð더 program프^r로우그^r램 prescribed프^r리스크^r라이브드 by바이 the^ð더 school스쿨 regulations^r레귤레이션즈 at앳 a어 graduate그^r래저웟 school.스쿨

③ 석사학위와 박사학위의 과정이 통합되거나 연계된 과정에 있는 사람 또는 같은 과정을 수료하거나 중도에 퇴학한 사람 중 박사학위를 취득하지 못한 사람으로서 학칙으로 정하는 석사학위의 수여기준을 충족한 사람에게는 석사학위를 수여할 수 있다. <개정 2017.11.28, 2026.3.10>

④ 학사학위와 석사학위의 과정이 통합되거나 연계된 과정에 있는 사람 또는 같은 과정을 수료하거나 중도에 퇴학한 사람 중 석사학위를 취득하지 못한 사람으로서 학칙으로 정하는 학사학위의 수여기준을 충족한 사람에게는 학사학위를 수여할 수 있다. <개정 2017.11.28, 2026.3.10>

⑤ 학사학위와 석사학위 및 박사학위 과정이 통합되거나 연계된 과정에 있는 사람 또는 같은 과정을 수료하거나 중도에 퇴학한 사람 중 박사학위를 취득하지 못한 사람으로서 학칙으로 정하는 학사학위 또는 석사학위의 수여기준을 충족한 사람에게는 학사학위 또는 석사학위를 수여할 수 있다. <신설 2026.3.10>

⑥ 박사학위과정이 있는 대학원을 둔 학교에서는 명예박사학위를 수여할 수 있다. <개정 2026.3.10>

⑦ 학위의 종류와 수여에 필요한 사항은 대통령령으로 정한다. <개정 2026.3.10>
