가족관계의 등록 등에 관한 법률 제84조(사망신고와 그 기재사항)

① 사망의 신고는 제85조에 규정한 사람이 사망의 사실을 안 날부터 1개월 이내에 진단서 또는 검안서를 첨부하여 하여야 한다.

② 신고서에는 다음 사항을 기재하여야 한다.

③ 부득이한 사유로 제2항의 신고서에 제1항의 진단서나 검안서를 첨부할 수 없는 때에는 사망의 사실을 증명할 만한 서면으로서 대법원규칙으로 정하는 서면을 첨부하여야 한다. 이 경우 제2항의 신고서에 진단서 또는 검안서를 첨부할 수 없는 사유를 기재하여야 한다. <개정 2016.5.29>
