지방교육자치에 관한 법률 제1조(목적)

이 법은 교육의 자주성 및 전문성과 지방교육의 특수성을 살리기 위하여 지방자치단체의 교육ㆍ과학ㆍ기술ㆍ체육 그 밖의 학예에 관한 사무를 관장하는 기관의 설치와 그 조직 및 운영 등에 관한 사항을 규정함으로써 지방교육의 발전에 이바지함을 목적으로 한다.
