소방기본법 제17조(소방교육ㆍ훈련)

① 소방청장, 소방본부장 또는 소방서장은 소방업무를 전문적이고 효과적으로 수행하기 위하여 소방대원에게 필요한 교육ㆍ훈련을 실시하여야 한다. <개정 2014.11.19, 2017.7.26>

② 소방청장, 소방본부장 또는 소방서장은 화재를 예방하고 화재 발생 시 인명과 재산피해를 최소화하기 위하여 다음 각 호에 해당하는 사람을 대상으로 행정안전부령으로 정하는 바에 따라 소방안전에 관한 교육과 훈련을 실시할 수 있다. 이 경우 소방청장, 소방본부장 또는 소방서장은 해당 어린이집ㆍ유치원ㆍ학교ㆍ장애인복지시설ㆍ아동복지시설의 장 또는 노인복지시설의 장과 교육일정 등에 관하여 협의하여야 한다. <개정 2011.6.7, 2013.3.23, 2014.11.19, 2017.7.26, 2022.11.15, 2025.1.7>

③ 소방청장, 소방본부장 또는 소방서장은 국민의 안전의식을 높이기 위하여 화재 발생 시 피난 및 행동 방법 등을 홍보하여야 한다. <개정 2014.11.19, 2017.7.26>
