선박직원법 제11조(승무기준 및 선박직원의 직무)

1. 선장은 선박의 운항관리에 대하여 책임을 진다. 다만, 사망ㆍ질병 또는 부상 등 부득이한 사유로 선장이 직무를 수행할 수 없을 때에는 자동화선박에서는 항해를 전문으로 하는 1등 운항사가 그 직무를 대행하고, 그 밖의 선박에서는 1등 항해사가 그 직무를 대행한다.
