방송미디어통신위원회의 설치 및 운영에 관한 법률 제6조(위원장)

① 위원장은 위원회를 대표하고 위원회의 회의를 주재하며 소관사무를 통할한다.

② 위원장은 필요한 경우 국무회의에 출석하여 발언할 수 있으며, 그 소관사무에 관하여 국무총리에게 의안의 제출을 건의할 수 있다.

③ 위원장은 국회에 출석하여 위원회의 소관사무에 관하여 의견을 진술할 수 있으며, 국회의 요구가 있을 때에는 출석하여 보고하거나 답변하여야 한다.

④ 위원장이 부득이한 사유로 직무를 수행할 수 없을 때에는 부위원장과 위원회가 미리 정한 위원 순으로 그 직무를 대행한다.

⑤ 국회는 위원장이 그 직무를 집행하면서 헌법이나 법률을 위반한 때에는 탄핵의 소추를 의결할 수 있다.
