뉴스통신 진흥에 관한 법률 제26조(임원)

① 진흥회에는 임원으로 이사장 1명을 포함한 7명의 이사와 감사 1명을 둔다. 임원의 임기는 3년으로 하고, 한 차례만 연임할 수 있다.

② 임원에 결원이 생겼을 때에는 결원이 생긴 날부터 30일 이내에 제4항부터 제6항까지의 규정에 따라 결원이 된 임원을 임명한다. 보궐임원의 임기는 전임자 임기의 남은 기간으로 한다.

③ 임기가 만료된 임원은 그 후임자가 선임될 때까지 그 직무를 수행한다.

④ 이사는 뉴스통신에 관한 전문성 및 언론 각 분야의 대표성을 고려하여 대통령이 임명하되, 그 중 3명은 국회의장이 각 교섭단체의 대표의원과 협의하여 추천한 사람을 임명하고, 2명은 일간신문 발행인을 대표하는 전국 조직과 지상파 방송사업자를 대표하는 전국 조직에서 각각 추천한 사람을 임명한다.

⑤ 이사장은 이사회에서 호선(互選)한다.

⑥ 감사는 이사장이 이사회의 의결을 거쳐 임명한다.

⑦ 이사장을 제외한 임원은 비상임(非常任)으로 한다.

⑧ 진흥회는 임원에게 정관으로 정하는 바에 따라 직무 수행 경비 등 실비(實費)를 지급할 수 있다.
