농지법 제2조(정의)

1. "농지"란 다음 각 목의 어느 하나에 해당하는 토지를 말한다.

3. "농업법인"이란 「농어업경영체 육성 및 지원에 관한 법률」 제16조에 따라 설립된 영농조합법인과 같은 법 제19조에 따라 설립되고 업무집행권을 가진 자 중 3분의 1 이상이 농업인인 농업회사법인을 말한다.

4. "농업경영"이란 농업인이나 농업법인이 자기의 계산과 책임으로 농업을 영위하는 것을 말한다.

5. "자경(自耕)"이란 농업인이 그 소유 농지에서 농작물 경작 또는 다년생식물 재배에 상시 종사하거나 농작업의 2분의 1 이상을 자기의 노동력으로 경작 또는 재배하는 것과 농업법인이 그 소유 농지에서 농작물을 경작하거나 다년생식물을 재배하는 것을 말한다.

6. "위탁경영"이란 농지 소유자가 타인에게 일정한 보수를 지급하기로 약정하고 농작업의 전부 또는 일부를 위탁하여 행하는 농업경영을 말한다.

6의2. "농지개량"이란 농지의 생산성을 높이기 위하여 농지의 형질을 변경하는 다음 각 목의 어느 하나에 해당하는 행위를 말한다.

7. "농지의 전용"이란 농지를 농작물의 경작이나 다년생식물의 재배 등 농업생산 또는 농지개량 외의 용도로 사용하는 것을 말한다. 다만, 제1호나목 또는 다목에서 정한 용도로 사용하는 경우에는 전용(轉用)으로 보지 아니한다.

8. "주말ㆍ체험영농"이란 농업인이 아닌 개인이 주말 등을 이용하여 취미생활이나 여가활동으로 농작물을 경작하거나 다년생식물을 재배하는 것을 말한다.
