기상법 제17조의4(국가기상센터의 설치ㆍ운영 등)

① 기상청장은 국민의 생명ㆍ신체 및 재산에 위험을 일으킬 수 있는 기상현상의 실황 및 그 변화를 상시적으로 감시하고 예보 및 특보를 효율적으로 생산ㆍ전달하기 위하여 기상청에 국가기상센터를 설치ㆍ운영할 수 있다.

② 기상청장은 인구 분포, 지형, 도시ㆍ농촌 등 지역 특성, 교통 밀집도 등을 고려하여 기상현상의 실황 및 그 변화를 상시적으로 감시하고 예보 및 특보의 생산ㆍ전달이 효율적으로 이루어져야 할 필요가 있다고 인정하는 경우 해당 지역을 관할하는 지방기상청에 지역기상센터를 설치ㆍ운영할 수 있다.

③ 제1항 및 제2항에서 규정한 사항 외에 국가기상센터 및 지역기상센터의 설치 및 운영 등에 필요한 사항은 기후에너지환경부령으로 정한다. <개정 2025.10.1>
