공중화장실 등에 관한 법률 제7조(공중화장실등의 설치기준)

① 공중화장실등은 남녀화장실을 구분하여야 하며, 여성화장실의 대변기 수는 남성화장실의 대ㆍ소변기 수의 합 이상이 되도록 설치하여야 한다. 다만, 행정안전부령으로 정하는 경우에는 그러하지 아니하다. <개정 2013.3.23, 2014.11.19, 2017.7.26>

② 제1항에도 불구하고 대통령령으로 정하는 장소 또는 시설에 설치하는 공중화장실등의 경우에는 여성화장실의 대변기 수가 남성화장실 대ㆍ소변기 수의 1.5배 이상이 되도록 설치하여야 한다.

③ 시장ㆍ군수ㆍ구청장은 대통령령으로 정하는 설치기준에 따라 공중화장실등에 장애인ㆍ노인ㆍ임산부 등이 사용할 수 있는 변기를 설치하여야 하며, 필요하다고 인정하면 주위환경과 조화되는 화단, 휴식시설, 판매시설 등의 시설을 설치하게 할 수 있다. 이 경우 장애인ㆍ노인ㆍ임산부 등이 사용할 수 있는 변기의 설치에 관하여는 「장애인ㆍ노인ㆍ임산부 등의 편의증진 보장에 관한 법률」 제8조를 준용한다.

④ 시장ㆍ군수ㆍ구청장은 범죄 및 안전사고를 예방하기 위하여 공중화장실등에 비상벨(비상 상황 발생 시 그 시설의 관리자 또는 주소지를 관할하는 경찰관서에 즉시 연결되어 신속한 대응이나 도움을 요청할 수 있도록 설치된 기계장치를 말한다) 등 안전관리 시설을 설치하여야 하며, 안전관리 시설의 설치가 필요한 공중화장실등은 조례로 정한다. <신설 2021.7.20>

⑤ 공중화장실등을 설치ㆍ관리하는 자는 대통령령으로 정하는 설치기준에 따라 공중화장실등에 대변기 칸막이를 설치하여야 한다. <신설 2021.7.20>
