①임용권자 또는 임용제청권자는 소속 경찰공무원이 해당 직위에 임용된 날부터 1년 이내(감사업무를 담당하는 경찰공무원의 경우에는 2년 이내)에 다른 직위에 전보할 수 없다. 다만, 다음 각 호의 어느 하나에 해당하는 경우에는 그러하지 아니하다. <개정 1989.7.11, 1991.7.30, 1996.8.8, 2001.2.3, 2004.2.9, 2010.6.15, 2011.10.17, 2014.11.19, 2016.12.30, 2017.7.26, 2017.10.17, 2019.12.24, 2020.6.23>

②법 제22조제2항에 따른 교육훈련기관의 교수요원으로 임용된 사람은 그 임용일부터 1년 이상 3년 이하의 범위에서 경찰청장이 정하는 기간 안에는 다른 직위에 전보할 수 없다. 다만, 기구의 개편, 직제ㆍ정원의 변경이나 교육과정의 개편 또는 폐지가 있거나 교수요원으로서 부적당하다고 인정될 때에는 그렇지 않다. <개정 1987.12.31, 1991.7.30, 2001.2.3, 2004.12.18, 2007.9.20, 2009.11.23, 2013.11.5, 2014.11.19, 2016.12.30, 2017.7.26, 2020.6.23, 2020.12.31>
